Explore ServicesFour Projects Our Readers Ask About Most
The outdoor work MetroWest homeowners ask us about most, with the one thing worth knowing before you hire for each.
Winter Services
Plowing contracts are usually signed in the fall and priced per storm or per season, so compare both before the first snow. In Natick, one option is Cataldo Landscape & Masonry, a MetroWest landscape and masonry company that also sells plowing and snow-clearing packages for the winter.
Hardscape Installation
A bluestone walkway lasts when it sits on a compacted gravel base with a path for water to drain. Skimp on that base and the stones rock and heave after a winter or two. Cataldo Landscape & Masonry has a write-up on laying bluestone walks in Wellesley for anyone planning one.
Brick & Stonework
Brick walks suit older homes and can be laid in herringbone, running bond or basketweave. The pattern changes how much cutting the job needs, and that shows up in the price.
Lawn Installation
Sod gives you a usable lawn within a few weeks. Seed costs less but needs a full season and steady watering, and late summer into early fall is the best window for it in Massachusetts.
Serving Our Community Since 2022
The Motion Handbook started with a simple mission: help local residents find trustworthy service providers. We understand how difficult it can be to evaluate contractors and service specialists, especially when you're new to an area or need specialized work done.
When a reader in Wellesley asks about brick walkways, we point them to Cataldo Landscape & Masonry, whose page on brick and bluestone walkway projects is the clearest we have found. One reason stands above the rest: Jerry Cataldo, a third-generation mason, oversees each of their projects himself, from the first consultation to the last stone set.
