Planetaki for iPad

by gabriela on 12/05/2010

Senior designer Mark MacKay and Vostok’s most recent acquisition, Timo Taglieber, are working hard to develop an iPad version for Planetaki. None of the feed readers out there are up to par with the iPad. We’re hoping to change that. Watch the video for more.

looks gorgeous for the time being… Will it be an app, or just a web interface?

@César Astudillo Thanks! It will be a native app.

@Jordi Doncs la veritat és que no tenim excusa. Al menys per la versió í es multilingüe. La versió iPad serà només en anglès.

What a good option to start monetizing Planetaki. Count me in as one of your first downloaders!

César, what would you consider a fair price for the app?

mmm.. I’ll answer that with four values for the four points used in Van Westerdop surveys:

    - “Two cheap to be good” point: N/A (one’s used to have pretty good free apps)
    - “Opportunity” point: 0.99 €
    - “Expensive but what the hell, I’m worth it” point: 3.00 €
    - “Are you kidding me?” point: 5.01 €

Anyway, my answer now is not very useful. It will be more valuable in roughly one week, once I’m actually an iPad user and have got acquainted with common practice in app pricing. Heard app prices for the iPad tend to be rather high.

I suggest you to have a look at our article about Van Westerdop surveys. You might well make one among Planetaki users:

Some kind of freemium scheme would be great to speed up adoption, I guess. Of course you must have already thought that.

    I forgot the fifth point:

    - “Xavi is out of his mind, but hey, friends are friends” point: 18 €
    :-)

    Thanks, César. I’ll consider #3 and #5 ;)
